Growing Quality Science & Scientists

Citizen Science Corners

Connecting Scientists with Communities Through Libraries

How You Can Contribute

We’re looking for scientists to get involved by:

  • Giving a talk (either online or in person)
  • Mentoring local library teams
  • Contributing materials that make your science more accessible to the public

We understand your time is valuable. That’s why we’ve structured this opportunity to minimise effort and maximise impact.

What We Offer

  • Choose the level of involvement that suits you: whether it’s a one-off event, an online contribution, or a short mentoring engagement
  • Flexible scheduling between June 2025 and June 2026 at a time that works for you
  • Promotion and community engagement managed through national and local channels
  • Participation may align with your institution’s engagement or impact reporting
  • Your contribution will be acknowledged nationally

Citizen Science Corners are welcoming, hands-on spaces in public libraries across Australia, designed to connect community members with real-world science and research. We’re inviting scientists to be part of this exciting initiative.

About the Project

This project is funded by the Department of Industry, Science and Resources through the Science Engagement Program: Maker Projects, with the goal of increasing public access to science and building meaningful connections between researchers and the wider community.
